My favorite things about the Fall season

If you are a long time reader of my blog, you’ll know that fall is my absolute favorite season of all time. I love everything about it. In the spirit of fall, I thought I’d do a post of all my favorite things about about this amazing season.

The colors!

The colors of the fall season are the best. Such warm colors that complement a cool season.

The cool crisp air!

I LOVE the cool weather during the fall season. I live in Las Vegas, so summer’s here are brutal. Fall is a nice break where it isn’t hot but also not too cold!

Fall Fashion

I love big long sweaters, hoodies, leggings and boots. I love being warm when it’s nice and cool outside. Besides I think fall fashion is just cuter anyways.

Candles

I love fall scented candles such as, Pumpkin spice, pumpkin apple, and apple pie. I especially love the fall food scented candles. I love the feel that the candles bring to my house

Colorful leaves

Who doesn’t like big piles of colorful leaves to jump in and crunch?!

Thanksgiving of course

Thanksgiving is my second favorite holiday! (Halloween is my first) I love the variety of foods, the way the house smells and my every year Thanksgiving tradition of watching the Macy’s day parade early in the morning! I love spending that time with my family!

What you do like about fall? Do you have any traditions? Let me know in the comments below.

Fall Questions

1. What is one candle you MUST light every fall?

Apple pumpkin is my absolute favorite!!!

2. When you think of fall, what does it remind you of?

Spooky things, leaves, crisp air and horror movies

3. What is your all-time favorite fall/Halloween movie?

I am a horror movie fanatic so this is a really hard question. If we are talking classics, then Halloween is my favorite. If we are talking more current, then it would have to be the conjuring. If we are talking just down right make you uncomfortable and creep you the hell out, then Sinister would be it. I told you, it’s really hard to pick.

4. What Halloween costume do you have in mind?
Well, my step daughter wants me to be a fairy, but I was thinking either a mermaid or a sexy zombie (is that even a costume? I’ll make one! Haha)

5. What is your favorite fall trend?
Once again, I have so many. Like literally so many. These fall tags are one of them.

6. When you think of fall, what drink comes to mind?

Wine. I don’t like any hot drinks. I will drink cold drinks all year around.

7. What is your go to fall beauty product? A must have staple!

Probably my gold, brown and dark reds eye shadow pallet. OH and chap stick.

8. Do you prefer apple pie or pumpkin pie?

Apple all the way. I am not a pumpkin lover at all. However, I do like the smell of a pumpkin candle and the taste of pumpkin bread, but that’s it.

9. Do you have any fall traditions? If so tell us all about it!
Once again, I have many. Watching movie marathons: Halloween, Scream, Nightmare on elm street, Harry Potter, Friday the 13th, Paranormal activity.
I also go to a pumpkin patch every year and try to do as many Halloween activities as I can. I also decorate every year like a crazy person, for fall/Halloween.

10. The moment of truth, is fall your favorite season?

Fall is my most absolute favorite season ever. In my opinion, it should be Fall all year around. Summer is too hot, winter is too cold, and spring is allergy season.

Who I nominate:

I am not tagging anyone because I want to leave this open to whoever wants to do it. 🙂 Happy Fall everyone

5 Ideas to try out this Fall

Fall is here and in the air, well not for us Vegans. It’s still mildly hot but soon jean jacket weather and ugg’s will be upon us as soon as we can blink. There are a bunch of fun things and activities you can do this fall with and without your kids. I’ve only come up with a list of five but I’m sure you can find more near you!

#1 Pumpkin Patches

Typical I know but it’s a fun event to visit while with the littles. When visiting you can pick out pumpkins, go on rides, feed the animals, and some even have hay rides or horse riding!

I will advise this fall when done with the pumpkin patch to check the kids, cloths, and pets for ticks. There has been reports at different patches all over of people getting bit and not checking. So be safe but don’t let that scare you from having some fun.

#2 Trunk or Treats

Every school and church I know has this. Trunk or Treats are a fun way to get out of the house pre Halloween with the kids and let them ware their costumes, supporting the community, and having fun with the activities they have their. Seeing all the different themes to the trunks are a plus too!

My favorite theme by far was a car done by my friend in a skeleton theme! It was the best trunk that year!

# Throw a Costume Party

ADULT ONLY costume/Halloween party is the perfect pass time and fun way to socialize. Adults like to have fun on this holiday too so why not host a party! Have fun games, costume contest, and spiked punch!

Decorate and have a monster of a time with friends, family, or even co workers!

#4 Paint/Carve Pumpkin

Carving Pumpkins together is a fun family activity that everyone can enjoy. Picking out different kinds of pumpkins and outlines! There are so many ways to run wild with pumpkins this year.

However in my house we paint pumpkins, I love seeing their artistic side come to life. They have painted bats to mummy’s. It has been come an arts and crafts project.

#5 Thankful Jar

Getting ready for Thanksgiving is easy, Why not make a thankful jar. Everyday of fall write on a small paper what your thankful for, have the kids write some too! Then on thanksgiving or you can even go up untill Christmas, read all the cute things you are thankful for through the month(s).

So there ya have it folks! What are somethings you are going to try out this fall?

Are you a true Halloween freak?

20180911_184946_0001

As y’all can already tell from my previous posts, I LOVE LOVE LOVE Halloween! My family and friends know me so well that they all tag me in Halloween related stuff on facebook, buy me Halloween stuff throughout the year and just know I am super obsessed with Halloween. I can’t even begin to explain my excitement when I see Halloween stuff in stores. Halloween is where my happy is. Hence why I’m called a Halloween freak. Now, let’s see if you’re a Halloween freak too.

ONE:

You know you’re really into Halloween if you crazy decorate your entire house. I mean go all out. Go overboard.

TWO:

You start planning for Halloween on November first is a for sure sign that you are obsessed.

THREE:

You wear Halloween clothes all year around. I LOVE my spider web and witch leggings and have worn them all year.

FOUR:

If you own more than 4 bins full of decorations, you are definitely a freak. ( I own 4 bins full and then some random boxes.)

FIVE:

When you decorate and EVERYTHING literally EVERYTHING has to be Halloween… from the dish towels right down to the hand soap. (And yes, I do have Halloween hand soap and dishtowels for that matter.)

SIX:

You LOVE LOVE LOVE horror movies, Tim Burton, Hocus Pocus and anything creepy.

SEVEN:

A true Halloween freak starts decorating as soon as September first. I want to, but can’t for two reasons. One, my husband thinks it’s too early and two, I’m throwing a mermaid themed baby shower at my house in October and I don’t think blood and guts go with mermaids and glitter very well. Hah! (I think it would be awesome honestly. Lol.)

EIGHT:

When you are the only person you know who gets excited over stores putting out Halloween stuff in August. Literally, this is the best ever, because no one usually touches the Halloween stuff until mid September so it’s all nice and neat and it’s easy to find what you’re looking for.

NINE:

Do you love Halloween enough to change your phone ringtone to a Halloween song? I alternate between, The Addams Family, The monster Mash, Halloween theme song, and mystical Magic from Hocus Pocus. OH, and Thriller!!

TEN:

Last, but not least, you know you are a true Halloween freak when you are truly sad that Halloween is only one day a year.

With all of this said, does any of these pertain to you? If more than half does, then you are a crazy Halloween fan. If ALL of them do right down to a T, then you are  true, 100% Halloween freak… just like me.

Happy almost fall, y’all!

Halloween Decor must haves

20180909_154735_0001

Since it’s fall time (Well, it’ll officially be fall on the 23rd of this month, but it’ll still be 100 degrees here in Las Vegas, unfortunately), I thought I’d do a fall related post. Since fall is my favorite season for the biggest reason being that Halloween is in the fall and y’all know that Halloween is my Christmas. I have crazy decorated for Halloween ever since I can remember. The older I got, the crazier my decorating got. There were only one year I didn’t decorate and it was last year because my living situation wasn’t ideal, so I didn’t bother. As you can tell, I’m pretty close to an expert Halloween decorator, so I’m going to share my expertise with you. Here are the Must-Have decorations for a true Halloween freak like myself.

ONE:

20180910_040309_0001These are a definite must! I didn’t use them for tables though, because they’re really thin and my kid would of ripped them off in 2 seconds. Instead I put it on the wall and it made it look like a bloody crime scene in my living room. I actually had gotten this at the Dollar Store one year. Unfortunately, I haven’t been able to find them there for the last 2 years, but they are online on various sites.

TWO:

20180910_042915_0001You aren’t decorating right if you don’t have cobwebs. I go super crazy with cobwebs and literally put them everywhere! Kitchen, living room, and even in the bathroom. Halloween experience even when you’re on the toilet.

THREE:

20180910_044647_0001If you really want your house to look eerie,  replace your hallway light bulbs with an orange, purple or black one, Hallways are creepy enough as it is… this will make it creepier. *Don’t replace all your light bulbs with these, otherwise you’re whole house will be dark and that wouldn’t be good. You still need to LIVE in your house.

FOUR:

20180910_045449_0001What’s Halloween without a giant spider? A couple of hears ago, I found this huge blow up spider at the Dollar store and I hung that on the ceiling in the middle of the living room. They are perfect with the massive amounts of cobwebs you have up!

FIVE:

20180910_050439_0001Even though your house looks like Spirit Halloween, you still want it to look and feel Homey. Halloween throw pillows and blankets will let everyone know that you still live there and it’s a home, not just a haunted house. You’re best bet would be to get some cheap Halloween fabric and make pillow cases for the pillows you already have.

SIX:

20180910_051405_0001You definitely need a motion sensor piece. Anything that’ll scare the crap out of your kids when they walk past it. I cannot wait to get this to scare my step daughter. My daughter laughs when she gets scared and then tries to scare everyone else in the house. She’s creepy like her mama.

SEVEN:

20180910_052426_0001Chair covers are the cutest thing ever. I got these at the Dollar Store a few years ago. (Yes, I get most, if not all of my Halloween decorations from the dollar store. Every year, the Dollar store carries these. It’s also very easy to make your own out of pillow cases.

EIGHT:

20180910_053413_0001You NEED a centerpiece on your table to go with your chairs. This can be anything you want, really. One year, I had a vase full of glittery pumpkins, another year, I had a platter of body parts. All of which you can buy at the Dollar store. (Black roses are an awesome center piece if you like that creepy, yet elegant look.)

NINE:

20180910_053735_0001Halloween window clings. Bloody handprints are my favorite, of course. You should also get cute fun ones for your kids to play with and rearrange. One year, I got a window cling of a zombie and I had it in my patio window and always scared the crap out of my neighbors. Definitely going to get another one of those!

TEN:

20180910_061320_0001Halloween dish towels and pot holders are the finishing touch on the kitchen. These are probably my favorite thing to buy. I have an odd obsession with dish towels. If they are new, I won’t let anyone use them. I will use them as decoration. Makes no sense, I know. lol

ELEVEN:

20180910_061821_0001
The number one thing I think everyone should have to really take their décor to the next level is a creepy porcelain doll! Y’all know, Halloween or not, these are the creepiest things ever! My grandma use to have a room full of these!!!

TWELVE:

20180910_101512_0001.pngOrange lights! You know, like the Christmas lights but orange to go outside. Nothing says crazy Halloween person like Halloween lights. Since I am living in my first house this year, and not an apartment, I am going to put Halloween lights up.

THIRTEEN:

20180910_092055_0001Last but not least, Halloween tree. Yes, a Christmas tree, but black and decorated with either creepy stuff like body parts and organs, or your favorite Halloween movie, like Nightmare before Christmas or Hocus Pocus. I personally haven’t done this yes, but I’m going to this year. You can just leave it up through the rest of the holidays and decorate it accordingly.

There you have it, 13 must have Halloween decorations. Funny thing is, I actually didn’t plan to share 13 of them… It just kinda worked out  that way. I ran out of ideas after 13. Ironic, right?

Goodbye August. Hello September.

20180904_164538_0001.png

I cannot express enough how happy I am for August to be done and over with. August was a terrible month for my family and I. Tons of anxiety attacks, father in law putting a financial strain on us and an emotional strain on my husband, my family treating me  like I am nothing to them, and just all around, a lot of unhappiness. Not to mention, August was disgustingly hot and humid! I hate the heat, but I hate humidity more. It does no good for my hair.

Speaking of the heat… more than half the summer, I’ve no air conditioner in my car… Turns out that I needed the most expensive part to fix it. Which we couldn’t afford since our financial situation was tough due to my father-in-law. So I chauffeured everyone around in a car with no air when it was like 109 degrees outside, so naturally, it was 200 degrees inside my car. I used a spray fan as my air for a while..

Another shitty thing that happened was that I found out my car registration was expired a freaking week AFTER IT WAS ALREADY EXPIRED. So, yes I was driving around with no registration for a good week… I never received anything in the mail stating that it was going to expire and I swore, it was going to expire in September… Horrible case of mom brain right there. (I still think the DMV messed up, not me. lol)

My husband hurt his back again in August and this time was worse than any other time he has hurt his back. He now needs physical therapy and more appointments with an Orthopedic specialist. A doctor told him that he more than likely has Degenerative disc disease. So, as you can see, August can go f*** itself.

September is here and I’m excited for it! Here’s why.
It’s not suppose to be as hot this month and definitely not humid!
I finally have air conditioner in my car so now I can drive around the rest of the summer comfortably without a pool of unwanted boob sweat! So, that’s nice.
My father-in-law will be out of our house before next weekend, so that financial stress will be gone. [I could honestly cry about this because I’m so relieved.]

September to me has always felt like the “getting ready for the awesome holidays to come” month. I start putting up fall decorations and shop for Halloween  stuff (Even though I have 3 bins full already). My husband says it’s too early to decorate, but I don’t think he really knows what he’s talking about… at all. This year for Halloween, we’ll be having a Halloween party and haunted house, so my excitement for Halloween is REAL this year.

In conclusion, I’m sooo happy August is over and September is here AND fall is almost here. Something to look forward too when literally my entire year has sucked thus far.
